ART MEETS FASHION 2010
I had the opportunity to be the Creative Director for Landis' participation in the Art Meets Fashion show on October 16. Our team did hair and makeup for 2 of the 6 local fashion designers that were showcased. It was such an amazing experience! We really had the chance to be creative and push the boundaries of hair and makeup to create true art.
Rachael Domingo's inspiration was 'Siren's Daughter'. A meeting between renaissance high society & beauty with mythological eeriness & underwater shapes.
Rebekah McKinney's show was much simpler; fingerwaves that turned big and textured with makeup consisting of a bold eye and a nude lip.
I was really honored to be put in charge of such a worthwhile event. Proceeds from this event went to 2 different charities, the Human Rights Foundation and the Art Center. Art Meets Fashion brought together local artists, fashion designers, and local restaurants.
Our team had a strong presence and really showed a prime example of team work. The outcome was an artistic expression of current hair and makeup techniques.

Hannah's Wedding
I've been doing alot of wedding hair this summer. Which I LOVE!!! Hannah's hair was particularly difficult. She has never cut or colored her hair. Her hair is fine and extremely healthy. First, I tried curling it with a curling iron and it came right out within an hour. We tried several things and in the end we ended up curling it with Flaxseed Aloe Gel and these great spiral hot rollers. It ended up with plenty of curl. It consisted of very simple pinning.

Downeast Photoshoot at the Salt Flats
Look for the upcoming Downeast Fall Catalog. I had the opportunity to do the hair and makeup for the models. This shoot was in the Salt Flats, 10 minutes outside of Wendover. It couldn't have been a more gorgeous day, not a single cloud. The Salt Flats looked amazing against the clear blue sky. It really made for an incredible backdrop for Downeast's upcoming looks. The models had simple classic hair. Their makeup consisted of grey eyeshadow and dark berry lips. A great look for the fall season. Look forward to me posting the professional pictures.
